About the exhibition

Organized by UNESCO Almaty Office in collaboration with Onewater, the Walk of Water exhibition at the Kasteev State Museum of Arts brings together powerful visual narratives from across Central Asia and around the world. Featuring award-winning photographs from the Water Towers and Water for Peace and Prosperity contests, the exhibition explores the many dimensions of water—from its role in sustaining ecosystems and livelihoods, to its cultural and emotional significance.

Through stories of melting glaciers, shifting climates, community-led innovations, and daily resilience, visitors are invited to reflect on the complex relationship between people and water. The exhibition includes regional perspectives alongside global insights, offering a diverse and moving portrait of our shared resource.

Designed to inspire dialogue and awareness, Walk of Water celebrates creativity, storytelling, and the urgent need for cooperation in the face of growing water challenges.
